Lanon

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

1. Introduction

This policy describes how Lanon (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our official mobile app (Google Play, App Store or another channel we announce) and our website. By continuing to use the service, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy. General legal terms are in our Terms of Use.

2. Scope

This policy applies to data collected through the app and the website we operate. Third-party websites, SDKs and app stores (external links, social networks, the platform’s own tools) may have their own policies, and we recommend reading them too.

3. Children’s privacy

Lanon is made for families: children use it, ideally together with a parent. We designed it so children can read, listen and play without giving us any personal information.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us identifying information (for example through the feedback form), please contact us and we will delete it or restrict its use, within what is technically and legally possible.

4. Information we process

Technical information. When the app or website talks to our servers we may process technical and usage information such as IP address, device and browser type, language, time of access, pages or screens viewed and server error logs, to operate, secure and improve the service.

Device identifier. To provide some features (reward stickers, reading and listening streaks, game and lesson progress synced with our server, your Premium status), the app creates a random identifier (UUID) on the device and sends it with its requests to our server. It is not your name or email; it only links feature data to that device. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, a new identifier may be created.

Feedback form. If you send us a message from the app, we process what you type (for example your message and, if you choose to give one, a way to reply to you) in order to answer.

Playing with a friend and sharing. If you invite a friend to an online game, the nickname you type and the game moves are stored on our server for that room, which expires after a short time. If you share a colored picture, the picture is uploaded so the share link can show it; anyone with the link can see it until it expires.

Cookies on the website. The website may use cookies or similar storage to remember preferences and to count traffic. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

5. Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)

On Android and iOS the app uses services from Google LLC through the Firebase platform:

Google’s processing is governed by Google’s policies: https://policies.google.com/privacy and the Firebase documentation.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Premium subscriptions are purchased through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never receive your card or bank details. We receive only the information needed to confirm and restore your subscription (such as the product, purchase status, expiry date and a transaction identifier from the store).

7. Device permissions and data stored on the device

Some features only work if you allow them in your device settings, for example:

Some data (for example recently read or listened stories) may be stored only on your device to show it in the app; this does not mean a full profile is synced to our server unless a feature clearly says so.

8. How we use data

We process data to: provide and maintain the service; sync features between the app and our server; confirm subscriptions; improve content and performance; detect and prevent fraud and security incidents; answer support requests; and meet legal obligations where applicable.

9. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell customer lists or personal data to third parties for their own marketing.

We may share data with, or let it be processed by, providers we need to run the service: Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics), Apple and Google (in-app purchases), hosting, storage and network providers, and similar infrastructure partners, under appropriate contracts and security requirements. Data may be processed on servers in Vietnam or in other countries depending on the infrastructure; when data is transferred across borders we apply appropriate safeguards under the applicable rules.

We may disclose information when required by law, a court order or a competent authority, or when necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users, of us or of the public.

10. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

How long we keep data depends on its type and purpose: server logs, backups and data on Google’s platforms follow our deletion cycles and the provider’s policies. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized where possible.

11. Your rights

Depending on the law where you live, you may have the right to be informed, to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Parents can ask us to review or delete data related to their child’s device. To make a request, please use the feedback form in the Lanon app. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date at the top shows the published version. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy, unless the law requires otherwise.

13. Contact

For any question about privacy or personal data, please contact us through the feedback form in the Lanon app (Settings → Feedback).
